The country’s largest annual industry bike show, Interbike featured some 800 companies representing nearly 1,000 brands spread out over the halls of the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. The expo halls were filled with tons of cool new gear from all over the world but eBikes were the most prominent in almost every booth. Let’s take a look at some of the eBikes that stood out on the floor. Here are some of our favorites.
Stromer ST5 Bike

The Pivot Shuttle ($9999) will help you to ride further and harder than ever before. It is the lightest and most capable eMTB you will find. The ultra-capable suspension and a state-of-the-art carbon-fiber chassis make for a smooth ride and durability. This bike also boasts the lightest, most powerful and longest-lasting eMTB battery in the Shimano STEPS E8000. It even comes with a 10-year frame warranty. Riese & Muller Culture GT Electric Bike
The Riese & Muller Culture GT Electric Bike ($5699) is all about experiencing life in the city in a new way. It boasts a full-suspension chassis, low center of gravity, a practical front basket and lots of styles. The Bosch drive system runs the show while a 500 wh battery and a display are along for the ride. You can charge the battery either on or off of the bike. The Gates CDX carbon belt drive along with the suspension gives you a smooth ride. This bike is low maintenance and high on features. Hydraulic disc brakes and an LED headlamp round it all out.
HARO Solum i/O ST
Brand new for 2018, the Solum i/O ST ($2800) is designed from the ground up to be the ultimate sport eBike. It is perfect for your commute or for unpaved back roads. So you can basically take it anywhere. Shimano’s STePS center-drive motor system is on board for assistance up to 20 miles per hour, and it also packs in a 418 WH battery that provides you with up to a 60-mile range depending on the mode. The Solum i/O ST has a full rack and fender mounts, a Haro commuter saddle with a micro adjust seat post and Shimano M315 hydraulic brakes.
E-Stream EVO AM 4 27.5+
If there’s a sportier feeling—or looking—eBike out there than glorious E-Stream EVO AM 4 27.5+ ($5399), then we very much look forward to testing it out at GearCulture HQ, because this one is an absolute hoot. The bullish bike boasts a 50-cell battery good for 650 watt-hours combined with a brutish Brose-S motor with maximized torque and a max speed of 20mph. Should you get too carried away—and it’s easily done on this—the Magura hydraulic disc brakes have got your back.
Yuba Electric Boda Boda
Hailed as the Ultimate Urban People Mover, the Yuba Electric Boda Boda ($3599) is an electric bike that is great for running errands. Go ahead and load it up. It’s designed to haul anything while still being light, with nimble steering. You are going to have a super smooth ride, every time. Carry your kids, a load of lumber, groceries, whatever you need. It’s all good. This is a fun ride to replace your car for running all of life’s errands. It has a 220-pound payload and fits 1 or 2 passengers. You’ll love this bike.

You’ll enjoy the ride thanks to the light frame, electric pedal assistance, and stepless gear shifting. You can even get an optional extra front bench, rain cover or maxi-cosi adapter. Raleigh Tamland iE Step Over
The Raleigh Tamland iE Step Over ($3800) is an electric bike that is designed for exploration on your terms. Whether you take it out on the open road or opt for roads less traveled, this sleek bike will get you there in style. It can handle just about anything thanks to those 27.5-inch wheels with 47c tires. The battery stores 500 watts of energy and powers the German-made Brose mid-drive motor up to 28mph. Other features include an aluminum alloy frame, hydraulic brake levers, and a display. If there’s a place that can fit a bike, this baby can go there.
