Like a hover-board, a jetpack is one of those inventions you always wish would get made, but never hold out much hope for. Well, thanks to an industrious New Zealander, the Martin Jetpack is here and it’s the first of its kind. Its purpose-built gasoline engine drives a pair of ducted fans for vertical and horizontal lift and it even has an automated hover function and safety features including a crumple undercarriage and ballistic parachute. Is everyone else humming the James Bond theme tune?
