This bull can outrun the mightiest of horses. The Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 ($387,000) takes the throne from the legendary Murciélago as the brand’s premier supercar. Its speed tops at a colossal 217 mph; and it can go from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.9 seconds. The company claims that it is 30% lighter and 150% stiffer than the aluminum chassis of the Murciélago as its roof and tub are created separately, then melded together to construct a lightweight yet unyielding exterior. The Aventador is the first Lamborghini to employ a full carbon-fiber monocoque and an F1-style pushrod suspension. Also, this king speedster utilizes a robotized gearbox which enables the almost-instant shift times of a dual-clutch transmission minus the extra weight.
