Apple’s WWDC25: What to Expect from the Biggest Developer Conference of 2025

Apple has officially announced its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC25) will take place from June 9 to 13, 2025. The event will be available entirely online and free for all developers, continuing the accessible format that has expanded the conference’s reach in recent years.
“You’re gonna want to save the date for the week of June 9! #WWDC25,” tweeted Greg Joswiak, Apple’s Senior VP of Marketing and “Big believer in hw, sw and services integration.”
This year’s conference will spotlight the latest advancements in Apple software while providing developers with unique access to Apple experts and insight into new tools, frameworks, and features. The annual gathering has historically been where Apple unveils its next-generation operating systems and developer tools that shape the future of its platforms.
Hybrid Format Continues
While the main conference remains online, Apple will host a special in-person experience at Apple Park on June 9. This event will give selected developers the opportunity to watch the Keynote and Platforms State of the Union presentations live, meet with Apple experts in one-on-one and group settings, and participate in special activities.
Space for the in-person component will be limited, with application details to be shared on the WWDC25 website.
Access Points for Developers
Throughout the week-long event, developers can engage with WWDC25 content through multiple channels. The Apple Developer app, website, and YouTube channel will host video sessions and provide opportunities to connect with Apple engineers and designers through online labs.

Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming conference: “We’re excited to mark another incredible year of WWDC with our global developer community. We can’t wait to share the latest tools and technologies that will empower developers and help them continue to innovate.”
Supporting Emerging Talent
The Swift Student Challenge remains a key component of Apple’s developer outreach. This competition for student programmers will announce its winners on March 27, 2025. Those selected will become eligible to apply for the special event at Apple Park.
Additionally, Apple will recognize 50 Distinguished Winners for their outstanding submissions. These individuals will receive an invitation to Cupertino for a special three-day experience. This initiative represents part of Apple’s broader commitment to supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs, coders, and designers.

For gear enthusiasts and Apple users alike, WWDC25 represents the first official glimpse at what’s coming to Apple’s ecosystem in the year ahead. While specific software announcements haven’t been detailed yet, additional conference information will be shared through the Apple Developer app and WWDC25 website as the event approaches.
