The Shipwood Dark Cabinet II ($1,200) is an antique straight out from the old world but with a modern twist. The cabinet’s old traditional Chinese ship wood is framed in a white painted carcass, melding history together with the contemporary to create a splendid piece of furniture. It indeed has a storied past, as the wood used to manufacture these come from old fishing boats that were in service for many decades. Upon opening the aged doors of the cabinet, six large compartments await to be used as storage space. Imperfections are aplenty on the surface of the cabinet – it is also the very reason why each piece is unique.
